Use this option to transfer items from one warehouse to another. Once the transfers have been made, you have the option to print a transfer docket to go with the goods to the branch.
Warehouses may be established as transfer locations so that, rather than directly transferring from one physical location to another, you can book the items out, into transit, then book them in when they arrive at the other warehouse. This is the preferred method for multiple warehouses.
If you want to setup transit locations for transfers between warehouses, a good convention is:
Warehouse ID |
Location Name |
Location Type |
BRI |
Brisbane |
Normal |
SYD |
Sydney |
Normal |
BRIT |
Brisbane To |
Transit |
SYDT |
Sydney To |
Transit |
If a location has an associated transit location – e.g. <Location ID>T like the SYD and SYDT samples shown above – then Micronet assigns the transfer to that location until the stock arrives at the receiving warehouse. For more information about setting up transit locations, refer to "File - Warehouse - Warehouse".
